#ValenciaGP – Bo Bendsneyder zal zondag in Valencia niet van de achtste plaats op de grid aan de wedstrijd beginnen. De Red Bull KTM Ajo coureur kreeg zondagochtend opnieuw een penalty vanwege een overtreding tijdens de op zaterdag verreden kwalificatie, de Nederlander zal hierdoor vanaf plaats twintig op de grid aan de race moeten beginnen.
Het begint zo langzamerhand een traditie te worden in de Moto3 klasse van het MotoGP wereldkampioenschap……penalties.
Ook tijdens de laatste kwalificatie van het seizoen werden er door de wedstrijdleiding opnieuw een aantal coureurs bestraft vanwege het te langzaam rijden in drie opeenvolgende sectoren. Dit keer waren het Nicolo Bulega, Niccolò Antonelli en opnieuw Bo Bendsneyder die de klos waren. Alle drie coureurs zullen twaalf plaatsen in moeten leveren op hun oorspronkelijke kwalificatiepositie.
Voor Bendsneyder waren de druiven dit keer extra zuur, de Nederlander gaf direct na de sessie al aan dat hij in de betreffende ronde van het gas af moest omdat een collega coureur voor hem in de remmen kneep. De Nederlander kon dit vervolgens ook nog eens aantonen middels videobeelden, maar ondanks een lang gesprek met FIM stewards, een lange interne discussie kwam zondagochtend net voor de warm-up het bericht dat de wedstrijdleiding bij hun standpunt bleef en de straf toch uitgedeeld werd.
De als vierde gekwalificeerde Bulega zal hierdoor vanaf de zestiende plaats op de grid aan de race moeten beginnen, Antonelli vanaf plaats achttien en Bendsneyder vanaf plaats twintig.

According to the Sporting Rules of the 2016 FIM GP World Championship Regulations and the FIM Disciplinary and Arbitration Code, we hereby inform you of the sanction that has been imposed upon you without a hearing (in accordance with article 3.2.1).
Facts
On 12 November 2016 during the Moto3 Qualifying session of the GRAN PREMIO MOTUL DE LA COMUNITAT VALENCIA, you were found to be riding slowly in 3 sectors in excess of the 110% limit of your fastest sectors.
Reasons
This contravenes the instructions that have been provided and is considered to be irresponsible riding causing danger to other competitors. It is therefore an infringement of Article 1.21.2 of the FIM World Championship Grand Prix Regulations.
Decision & Sanction
For the above reasons and being the first offense since updated instructions were provided at Motegi, the FIM MotoGP Stewards Panel has imposed on you a grid penalty of 12 places at this event. (in accordance with articles 3.2.1 and 3.3.2.3).
Right of Protest
According to the Art. 3.4.1 and 3.4.3 of the 2016 FIM Disciplinary and Arbitration Code, you have the right to protest against this decision in front of the FIM MotoGP Stewards within 30 minutes from the time of receipt of the decision, subject to immediate payment of the security deposit of 660 Euros.
